How to use Stories filters in Instagram video calls?
Did you know that you can make chatting with your friends more fun using Stories filters in video calls? Yes, all the filters you use in traditional posts can also be applied during conversations with your friends. In this article, we will show you step by step how to use them.
How to use Stories filters in video calls?
First of all, you need to know that Instagram allows video conferences with up to six simultaneous users. This means that you can use the function both for chatting with a friend and for group conversations. You can follow this step-by-step guide to accomplish that.
Step 1. Open a Direct conversation or a multi-person chat by tapping the camera icon.
Step 2. Once the call starts, tap “Effects” at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3. Now, just swipe to the side and choose the filter you want to apply. Tap on it.
Step 4. If you are satisfied with the option chosen, tap anywhere on the screen to make the filter carousel disappear.
If you want to change the effect, just repeat the step by step. The tip applies to all versions of Instagram, on Android and iOS.
Searching and adding filters to the library
To make accessing filters even simpler, ideally, you add your favorites to the library. Using the search tool or activating a filter from the moment you see it are the available alternatives. See how to do this.
Step 1. Open Instagram and tap on the camera icon to open Stories.
Step 2. Then tap the icon with an emoji to open the effects list.
Step 3. At the bottom of the screen, you will find a list of the main effects available. Scroll the options to the left to the bottom. “Browse Effects” will be the last option on the list. Tap on it.
Step 4. On the next screen, you will access the “Effects Gallery”. Scroll down to find dozens of options.
Step 5. If you prefer, you can find effects related to some tags. The most popular on the list are the following: “Following”, “Instagram”, “Selfies”, “Love”, “Color and Light”, “Camera Styles”, “Moods”, “Funny”, “Surroundings”, “Animals”, Science Fiction and Fantasy”, “Strange and Scary”, “Events”, “Fandom” and “Causes”.
Step 6. Once you’ve previewed the effect, just tap on it to open it in full screen. Then tap on “Try it out” so that the filter is applied to the image captured by your camera.
Once the filter has been used it will be saved in your library. In the next use, it will be available in the filter list and you will not need to go to the search option.
Finally, the other option is to add it to the library when you see it being used by another profile.
Step 1. Find a video where someone is using a filter that interests you.
Step 2. Right below the user profile, the name of the filter used will be highlighted. Tap on it.
Step 3. The effect in question will be added to your library and will be available for use directly in the camera.
Ready! Now just use the filters to have fun with your friends during online video conferences.
